The Zenergy :: Simple :: Reliable :: Inexpensive :: Proven :: Available

The Zenergy works by reducing the voltage supplied to your lights.

Most appliances will consume proportionately less energy when the voltage is reduced: for example, reducing the supply voltage to an electric heater by 10% will reduce the kilowatts used by 10%.

However, magnetically ballasted discharge lamps - the lights in streetlamps, offices, public buildings, in fact just about everywhere except the home - behave differently. For every percentage point change in voltage, their energy consumption changes by over 2%. So a drop of 10% in the supply voltage results in a fall of over 20% in electricity used, whilst the associated slight dimming is imperceptible to the human eye.

When set to its maximum economy mode, the 14% voltage reduction managed by the Zenergy can produce billed (kWh) direct energy savings of over 30% - for a recent, real world example, read our press release - and because of the so-called power factor, the resources used to produce the supply may be reduced even further - by nearly 40% in the case cited in the news article.

If the premises are air-conditioned, less energy is required to remove the heat produced by the lights at the higher voltage, another saving of perhaps 10%.

Not only will the Zenergy save you money on your utility bill (and on replacement fittings, see Save MONEY), but its environmental footprint also makes it eligible for government grants and loans, and improves your organisation's green credentials.

We are currently compiling a list of government incentive schemes by jurisdiction from whom you may be able obtain direct or indirect financial assistance for installing the Zenergy.
